Last Fathers Day card from Faris

KOTA BARU: Like any child his age, Muhammad Faris Faizal Noor Hissham was so excited about celebrating Fathers Day last Sunday that he personally designed a card for his father for the first time.

The Year One pupil of SK Kedai Tanjung spent hours to decorate and draw a picture of a train on the card.
The card, however, failed to reach his father Noor Hissham Abdul Aziz on Sunday as the 50-year-old businessman was out of town on Fathers Day.
The father only received the card on Monday night, three days after his son, the elder of two siblings, was killed by a gunshot to his head.
"I cried when I found the card in his school bag," Faris' mother, Fadhilah Rifa'in, 27, said.
She immediately gave the card to her husband when he and other relatives were getting ready to perform the tahlil prayers for her son.
"This was the first time he came up with his own card. I still cannot believe that he has left us."
Fadhilah also expressed disappointment over rumours that her son was a hyperactive child that was difficult to handle.
She said comments by her friends on Facebook seemed to suggest that her son was disobedient and naughty.
"He was a good son and had always obeyed me."
She added that reports on the incident which stated that Faris had accidentally fired a shot were inaccurate.
Noor Hissham said his family was considering legal action against certain newspapers.
