Seven-month-old Nur Liyana Md Azhar needs RM40,000 for corrective heart surgery, while 4-month-old Thurai Elangovan (right) needs RM35,000 for ventrical septal defect surgery.

See Qian En, 14 months old, is suffering from patent ductus arteriosus, or extra-blood vessel.
It causes increased workload to the heart and impairs normal growth.
Qian En is also at risk of developing infection to the extra-blood vessel.
Her father, See Then Too, 47, a part-time wireman in Singapore, who earns RM2,500, finds it difficult to pay for Qian En's RM14,000 medical fee as he has to support his two other children from a previous marriage.
Her mother, housewife Lang Kwai Fong, 42, said she was sad and did not know where to go for help when she found out about her daughter's heart condition.
Seven-month-old Nur Liyana Md Azhar, was diagnosed with an anomalous left coronary artery from the main pulmonary artery.
As a result, she suffers from myocardial ischaemia, or insufficient flow of oxygenated blood to the muscle of the heart.
She is in an isolation ward at Gleneagles Hospital Kuala Lumpur as her blood is contaminated with virus infection from her lungs.
Her father, Md Azhar Mohd Ehwan, an engineer from Johor, earns RM4,544, but has to support his three other children.
He said he could not afford to come up with RM40,000 needed for Nur Liyana's surgery.
Azhar said doctors told him that Nur Liyana's heart was functioning at a rate of 28 per cent only and if she was not operated on soon, she was expected to survive until the age of two.
"Whenever Nur Liyana smiles, I feel there is hope, but now I leave it to God."
Four-month-old Thurai Elangovan is suffering from ventrical septal defect, or a hole in the heart.
His father, Elangovan Avali, 32, an assistant welder who earns RM500 per month, cannot afford the surgery, which is estimated to be about RM35,000.
Thurai's mother, Chithra Devi Subramaniam, 26, a housewife, said her son had been staying in Teluk Intan Hospital since he was born as he was not well.
However, his heart condition was only detected when he was a month old.
Those who wish to help can send cheques, made payable to The New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd with the child's name written on the reverse side of the cheque and addressed to: The Cashier, Finance Department/Charity Unit NSTP, The New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd, Balai Berita, 31, Jalan Riong, 59100 Kuala Lumpur.
