No one was hurt in the incident but  the library and teachers' meeting room were destroyed.
Principal Teh Ting Oin said all 1,400 pupils in the afternoon session were in   class  when the fire broke out   about 3pm.
"The pupils and teachers  were evacuated to  SK Kajang   across the road."
The school will be closed for the rest of the week for  repairs.
A Year Three pupil said he was in a classroom, a floor below the meeting room, when he heard an explosion.
"We  saw thick smoke coming out of the meeting room. As the fire raged, we were told to leave  the building," the pupil said.
The school then  contacted    parents, informing them of the fire and telling them to take their children home.
Kajang Fire and Rescue Department chief  Ariff Mohamed said the fire started at the teachers' meeting room on the top floor.
"The entire floor was destroyed," he said, adding that it was investigating the cause of the fire.
