An angry Sultan Ibrahim said Mohammad Nizar's act was an insult to the people and sovereignty of Johor and hoped that he was aware of the mistake committed.
"Recently, a political leader openly criticised my bid for a vehicle registration number with the Road Transport Department.
"Has he forgotten Malay manners or is he ignorant and shallow minded? Don't act smart if you don't know the real situation. Is it not better to keep quiet than say something bad?.
"This is my advice to the leader, "Don't look for sores at the feet of others if you can't treat sores at your own feet," he said when opening the Johor State Assembly at Kota Iskandar, here today.
Former Perak menteri besar Mohammad Nizar had criticised Sultan Ibrahim's bid for the WWW 1 registration number in his Twitter account.
Sultan Ibrahim said that his action was according to proper procedure adding that every good deed done should not be publicised.
He reminded elected representatives and community leaders to keep good manners and be careful when making comments in line with the Malay proverb
"Cakap siang pandang pandang, cakap malam dengar dengar."
"If he (Mohammad Nizar) wants to apologise, do apologise to all the people of Johor and not me alone.
Remember the Malay proverb "Terlajak perahu boleh diundur, terlajak kata buruk padahnya," he said thanking NGos and Johoreans for the support and pledge of loyalty.
The sultan is grateful that the people could live in peace and benefit from continuous high economic growth.
Johor investments reached over RM2 billion in first quarter of the year while Iskandar Malaysia recorded committed investments of RM87.56 billion from 2006 until March.
"Over 30 per cent of initial project value nationwide was invested in Johor including oil and gas that will become a major economic generator.
"As such, the government needs to ensure that the people are equipped with professional, technical and vocational skills to allow them join the workforce in these new areas."
Sultan Ibrahim reminded all quarters to remain united as there are efforts by certain groups to create dissunity among the people for their own political end.
This was done by spreading lies and inciting the people to hate rulers by raising sensitive racial and religion issues to destroy the peace and prosperity.
"Don't forget that unity is the foundation of this nation and the progress achieved is the result of this unity that existed long ago.
"I believe that the people of Johor are not easily fooled by tricks deployed by "musang yang berbulu ayam." -- BERNAMA
